X-Men Giant Size Boxed Set - 1998

This set is a very good set of figures with great articulation in them. They are all sized correctly in comparison to the other figures that have been made. Each figure is modeled after how they appeared in Giant Size X-Men. Wolverine joined the X-Men in that issue as well, but was not included in this set. This is one of the best comic accurate sets that was released.

Banshee

Banshee is in a very odd position and it difficult to pose because of this. The figure does have a cloth cape though and does have a lot of articulation. The detail on this figure is also very high. The figure is a bit smaller than I thought he should be, but it is a small complaint. Also, this is the only figure of Banshee in this outfit we ever got.

Colossus

This is the best Colossus figure that has been made. It is a bit taller than the other figures, which is like the comics. This figure is very well detailed and it is painted in very shiny silver. The level of detail on the sculpt is way above what was done with previous Colossus figures. The figure is very articulated like all the other figures in this set and features ball joints on his shoulders.

Nightcrawler

This figure of Nightcrawler is one of the best ones. It features a bendable tail, as well as great articulation though the use of ball joints. This is the only Nightcrawler that can crouch. The hands and feet are much bigger than normal on this figure, which is true to the character.

Storm

This Storm figure is the best Storm made. It even features a cloth cape and a lot of articulation. The cape is attached via bracelets to her arms so that when her arms move, the cape will follow. This figure is also hard to stand since she has high heels on.

Sunfire

This Sunfire figure is much scrawnier than the first Sunfire that was made. The figure has very small scales on his arms and legs and is very detailed. This figure reminds me a lot of the second Hobgoblin figure from the Spider-Man lines.

Thunderbird

Thunderbird's only figure and it was a great one. This figure was slightly bigger than most other figures which is true to the comics. Like the others in this set he has great articulation with a good level of detail on the sculpt. This also doubles as a Warpath figure, since Warpath looked identical to his brother and wore an identical costume originally.
