X-Men Monster Armor - 1997

I'm not really sure why the X-men would change into monsters, but whatever. This series had some good figures despite the odd Accessories. It would also give us a Mystique figure, which had been absent until now and a resculpt of Mr. Sinister.

Cyclops

This figure is pretty good, though the face is very odd like he's yelling in pain. The sculpt of the figure is very well done, with the figure being thin just like he was supposed to be in the comics. The pose of the figure is also very nicely done. In terms of articulation, the shoulders have ball joints, which was becoming more common. Another great figure in this line.

Figure ability: Snap on monster parts
Accessories: Monster feet x2, Monster hands x2, Monster head

Mystique

Mystique gets her first figure here although she had already gotten a 10 inch one. The articulation is ok but not great though the figure sculpt more than makes up for it. The figure is an exact likeness of the character and the pose is even a good one. Her belt is removable as well. The snap on monster parts look strange just like all the other figure do with them on.

Accessories: Monster feet x2, Sash, Monster hands x2, Monster head

Rogue

This is kind of an Age of Apocalypse Rouge, as the costume is Age of Apocalypse, but the hair is not. The figure pose makes it look like she could be dancing. The figure is very well articulated in the arms by using ball joints in her shoulders, but the legs really can't be put into too many positions. This is the second Rouge figure made.

Sinister

A new Sinister was much needed to replace the series 2 one. This one does look much more 'sinister'. The figure's pose is kind of strange though, he really can't be put into too many different positions. The cape is removable as well.

Figure ability: Snap on monster parts
Accessories: Monster armor, Cape

Wolverine

Another Wolverine figure appears in this series. This one is Wolverine in his classic costume all ripped up showing battle damage which he did appear with quite a bit in the comics. The prototype pictured had shoulder pads like the comics, though the released figure had no shoulder pads. This version of Wolverine also has somewhat big hands and feet but still has a very good sculpt. The snap on armor pieces look a little strange on him.
