Magneto

Magneto would only have a few figures throughout the line, and almost each one would be remade or repainted at least once. Like several of the other villains, he didn't change costumes much, so most of his figures looked very similar.

Magneto

X-Men Series 1 - 1991

The first Magneto had several features that would not be used again until later series. His removable helmet and cloth cape were unique to this figure. The sculpting on this figure is really well done for the first series other than his figure being a bit small, but that was common on the first few X-Men series. The articulation is good possessing both elbow and knee articulation and he possesses magnets in his chest and hands for the junk metal pieces to attach to.

Figure ability: Magnetic chest that you can magnetically attach the small pieces of junk metal to
Accessories: Helmet, Cape, Junk piece, Junk piece, Junk piece

Magneto

X-Men Talking Series - 1991

Magneto is slightly retooled from his series 1 release, but his helmet is not removable. Also his cape was left out to make room for the backpack. His backpack will say 'You Shall Perish!', 'Mutants Must Rule!', and 'BZZT!'

Figure ability: None
Accessories: Junk piece, Talking Backpack

Magneto II

X-Men Series 2 - 1992

X-Men Classics - 1995

The new remolded Magneto was much better than the previous version. The helmet is non-removable this time, but it looks much better. The only complaint I had was that his feet are very close together, which makes it hard for him to stand up sometimes. The sparking action makes his chest light up by a lever in his back. In order to move the lever the cape has to be removed. This figure would not be improved upon for a while as it is re-released several times. This is also the only Magneto with a non-removable helmet.

Figure ability: Sparking action
Accessories: Gun, Cape

Magneto

X-Men Age of Apocalypse - 1996

A great Magneto figure - this one is better than the series 2 one. The figure comes with a removable cape and helmet which looks good both on or off the figure. This figure would get reused a few times to make other Magneto figures.

Figure ability: Removable helmet and giant hand
Accessories: Giant metal hand, Helmet, Cape

Magneto

Marvel Hall of Fame Series 5 - 1997

X-Men Kay-Bee Series 2 - 1998

This Magneto is a repaint of the X-Men Age of Apocalypse series Magneto, repainted to look like he did around Uncanny X-Men # 200 when he was the headmaster of the New Mutants and a member of the X-Men.

Figure ability: Removable helmet
Accessories: Giant metal hand, Helmet

X-Men Battle Bases - 1998

This Magneto is one of the best ones made. It takes the body from the Age of Apocalypse Magneto and adds a cape and new head to it to look more like the regular Magneto.

Figure ability: Large battle base
Accessories: Missiles x3, Battle base, Helmet

Video Game Series X-Men vs. Street Fighter Series 1 - 1999

X-Men Classics (repaints) series 1 - 2000

This Magneto is a modification of the Magneto II figure way back in X-Men series 2. The figure has the same body, but a new head with a removable helmet. The sparking action has also been completely removed, so they did have to do a bit of reworking on the body. Like the normal Magneto II, the legs on this figure seem to be too close together, and because of this, the figure has a hard time standing sometimes. He comes packaged with a Ryu figure.

Figure ability: None
Accessories: Helmet, Cape
