Gambit

Gambit was a lot like Cyclops in that he received quite a few figures throughout the lines. He also didn't have too many different costumes in the comics, so a few of his figures didn't really represent costumes he wore in the comics. But, he didn't really get any bad figures.

Gambit

X-Men Series 2 - 1992

X-Men Classics - 1995

This first Gambit figure was pretty cool. The kicking action worked pretty well, but was easily broken. Once it did break Gambit couldn't stand up, as his leg was always in the up position. His trench coat was made of plastic and looked kind of odd, but was a good attempt. It could be removed with some effort, but he looked kind of odd since his collar was part of the figure and could not come off. When this figure was being designed, the designers had thought about making him in his yellow and blue X-Men outfit similar to the outfit that Forge, Banshee, and Wolverine III had. They instead went with his normal outfit.

Figure ability: Kicking action
Accessories: Staff, Coat

Gambit

X-Men Steel Mutants Series 2 - 1994

Gambit gets a scaled down version of his X-Men series 2 figure, only this time a card is molded in his hand and the trench coat is molded on as well. He comes with Bishop.

X-Men Age of Apocalypse - 1996

Miscellaneous Series Famous Couples - 1999

This figure got dropped from the final lineup for some reason. The figure is not as good as the others, but it is not bad. It was later packaged with an Age of Apocalypse Rouge in the Famous Couples line. The figure has a spring loaded arm that can throw a small fireball and a removable cape.

Figure ability: Blast throwing action
Accessories: Cape, Fireball, Spear

Gambit

X-Men Light -Up Classics - 1996

A new Gambit was needed to replace the scrawnier previous version. This Gambit looked much rougher like he did in the comics and featured throwing cards as well as a coat that looked really good. Not only that but the articulation is very well done as well. The only thing he lacks is elbow movement.

Figure ability: Light up cards
Accessories: Cards, Staff

Gambit Repaint

X-Men Light -Up Classics - 1996

Changed to resemble the standard yellow and blue X-Men outfit he wore around Uncanny X-Men #275. His coat is a little darker than the normal version.

Figure ability: Light up cards
Accessories: Cards, Staff

X-Men Danger Room - 1996

This is just a repaint of the Light Up series figure, just a little bit darker colors.

Figure ability: None

Gambit

X-Men Robot Fighters - 1997

This Gambit figure is ok, but it is not very articulated. This Gambit's face looks like he is angry or constipated. This Gambit is holding a few cards in his left hand and the hands can be rotated.

Figure ability: Attack robot
Accessories: Attack Robot, Missile

Gambit

X-Men Power Slammers - 1998

Gambit is also in his Shi'ar costume as he appeared around Uncanny X-Men #345. This figure is very well done as well although he seems a little small to me. He comes in a weird pose as well as if he's sitting down. The figure is very well articulated though.

Figure ability: Rapid fire card cannon slammer
Accessories: Power slammer, Discs x6

Gambit

X-Men Strike Team Set - 1998

This Gambit uses the super poseable Daredevil body as well as the head from the Robot Fighters Gambit. The figure is very articulated with its use of ball joints and looks very good. He is one of the best figures in this set.

Figure ability: None
Accessories: None

Gambit

Video Game Series X-Men vs. Street Fighter Series 2 - 1999

X-Men Classics (repaints) series 1 - 2000

This Gambit is another retooled mold with a new head. This time the figure is from the X-Men light up series. The body is basically the same, but with the light up feature removed and a mechanism to able him to throw a card was put in. The head is a new head, which I like better than the old one. The coat is also new, and it is actually a left over part of the Maggot figure that was planned in the X-Men Flying Fighters line but never actually got produced. He comes packaged with a Cammy figure.

Figure ability: Card throwing action
Accessories: Staff, Card
